We had the pleasure of sitting down with one of our awe-inspiring patients Pete Smith and hearing about his bariatric journey! He has had a fantastic weight loss transformation and we loved learning more about his story and what got him to where he is today!

“I’m coming up on my two-year surgery anniversary. I take a deep breath and sigh of relief. I consider myself lucky, and I can never really repay for changing my life forever. Dr. Aragon, and his team. The rest of the staff, I seriously can’t thank you enough.

The advice I think is most important to give is remembering your “why”, the reason why you knew you had to change yourself. My “why” is everything to me, my wife, my best friend. She has always pushed me to be the best version of myself, and I’ll never stop returning that favor to her.

The second piece of advice is discipline. All of the guides and tools we are given are still sometimes taken for granted, but you can’t ever forget how good discipline motivates people to the core it really does. Sticking to a program that works and seeing the results just makes you want to keep going. I have a friend who is a Navy Seal, he sees me working out and I somehow motivate him, it really is an astounding thing.

We all search for motivation from somewhere and there is always going to be someone who wants to be where you are. Remember your why and be disciplined and the results will show through. We didn’t get big overnight and you’re going to lose all the weight overnight. Trust the process and follow it to the T. My focus now is fitness – let’s see where this journey goes! Good luck to everyone on your goals!”
