Our Facility
The primary facility that we operate in was built as a “boutique” bariatric-specific specialty hospital. This means that every room, device, piece of equipment, and staff were chosen with weight-loss surgery patients in mind. It was also designed so that your office, classes, surgery, private-room overnight stay, and all required testing are done in a single convenient location!
Board Certified Surgeons
Since 2002, KC Bariatric has performed over 20,000 successful surgeries, with a complication rate that is much lower than the national average. The surgeons at KC Bariatric are all Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, and members of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), in addition to also receiving the distinction of being Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Our surgeons have undergone highly specialized bariatric surgery fellowship training at major teaching hospitals in gastric bypass, gastric sleeve revisional surgery, and endoscopy. We are familiar with not only the common cases of weight-loss surgery but also the extremely rare and difficult cases that other surgeons don’t want to tackle.

Most other practices rely on other surgeons who may not be trained or familiar with bariatric surgery to cover for them if they are off for the weekend or out of town. This can increase the chances of a patient’s problem being misdiagnosed and mismanaged, or the patient ending up with an “open” (a large abdominal incision) procedure performed unnecessarily should you need urgent surgical care at that time.
Patient Care
KC Bariatric places a high priority on all aspects of patient care, including pre-and post-surgery care. We are not like other practices where you may only see your surgeon one or two times after your bariatric surgery, we follow our patients lifelong. Follow-up care includes regular visits with your surgeon, access to our dietitians and clinical psychologists, and many activities focused on social support, such as support groups and peer mentoring.
