Dr. Stanley Hoehn, MD, FACS, FASMBS, founded The Bariatric Center of Kansas in 2002 and serves as the Medical Director of the Weight Loss Surgery Program at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Dr. Hoehn developed the idea for our free-standing Bariatric Surgical Hospital and partnered with Shawnee Mission to complete this concept in 2010. As a founding member of the BCKC Surgical Hospital, he holds the position of Board President as well as Medical Director.
Dr. Hoehn received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from medical school at Loma Linda University in Southern California in 1994. He completed his surgical residency and internship at the University of Kansas in 1999.
Dr. Hoehn has been approved as an ASMBS Bariatric Center of Excellence Surgeon since 2006. He is Board Certified in General Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Hoehn speaks frequently on a national platform for Ethicon Endo-Surgery and hosts monthly preceptorships sharing his expertise at the practice with visiting surgeons.
Dr. Hoehn has been in private practice in the area since the end of his training offering abdominal, advanced laparoscopic, and bariatric surgery. He is committed to outstanding patient care and to leading the highest quality Surgical Weight Loss program in the country. Dr. Hoehn has successfully completed over 10,000 surgical weight loss procedures.
