Since 2006 we have been serving our patients and transforming their lives as national leaders in the field of weight-loss surgery. Our program has always prided itself on achieving the highest standards of excellence in everything we do. During this very challenging time in the history of our country and our community brought on by the COVID-19 health crisis, we are rising to the occasion with the same excellence that has always distinguished us.
We know that these are trying times for our patients and many are struggling to cope, but we want to remind you that we are here to serve you and help you to get through it together.
With the current “stay-at-home” order issued for the greater Kansas City metro area, we would like to emphasize that our services are and have been deemed essential healthcare. We therefore encourage you to keep all of your scheduled appointments and surgeries. These surgeries are life-transforming and lead to improved health and longevity for those patients who undergo them, and are therefore considered essential. However, if you have symptoms of acute respiratory illness or fever, we recommend that you stay home and reschedule your appointments until resolved.
The well-being and safety of our patients and staff are our top priority. To that end, we are adapting all of our processes and protocols to protect our patients and follow all the current guidelines related to prevention of COVID-19 transmission. Our center is designed for highly specialized care, which is specific and exclusive to weight-loss surgery patients, and we feel confident in the measures taken to protect you. For patients scheduled for surgery this week, we are following AdventHealth’s policy for “no visitors” during and after surgery.
Please note, beginning on March 30th we will be pausing our surgery schedule so that the healthcare providers from our team are able to remain available to respond to the COVID-19 health crisis in any capacity that we are asked to by our health system. Nevertheless, we ask you to please remain engaged with all of your clinic appointments, surgeon visits, comprehensive care appointments (such as diet, psychology, sleep, PT and medical visits), and the program in general, so your journey to better health is not interrupted.
As this is a very dynamic situation with circumstances changing every day, we will continue to update you with any changes as soon as they become known.
Thank you for your loyalty to our program, we will get through this together.
