Dr. Robert Aragon, MD, FACS, FASMBS, was recruited to join The Bariatric Center of Kansas City in 2014, after completing a fellowship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, where he became skilled in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric, and robotic surgery.

Dr. Aragon is highly skilled in bariatric surgery and has personally performed over 3,000 successful weight-loss surgeries. He also developed the robotic bariatric surgery program at AdventHealth in Kansas City.

A native of California, and fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Dr. Aragon completed his surgical residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California in 2013. He completed a surgical research fellowship and has presented and published his research nationally.

Dr. Aragon is Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, where he serves as the Kansas state chapter committee representative and secretary.

Dr. Aragon loves connecting with patients on a personal level and spending quality time with each one to make their experience and weight-loss journey unique and special. He loves taking photos with his patients and praying with them before their surgeries. He is known by his patients as a surgeon with great hands and a great heart!
