Dr. Robert Aragon

Dr. Robert Aragon is a board-certified and fellowship-trained laparoscopic weight-loss surgeon. A native of California, Dr. Aragon relocated to the Midwest after he was recruited to join the elite group of surgeons at The Bariatric Center of Kansas City, which he is excited to be a part of.

He received his MD degree from the University of Montemorelos. Dr. Aragon then completed a surgical internship and residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California, where he was distinguished with the Teaching Chief Resident Award. During this postgraduate training he was chosen for and completed a specialized surgical research fellowship, involving extensive clinical and lab research.

He has participated in numerous research studies and has presented and published his award-winning research nationally. Dr. Aragon went on to complete a dedicated fellowship training program at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California, where he became skilled in minimally-invasive, bariatric, and robotic surgery.

Dr. Aragon is truly dedicated to the exciting field of weight loss surgery, whether it be delivering highly-skilled and compassionate care to his patients or performing cutting-edge research. He desires to help patients reach their weight loss goals as a surgeon with great hands and a great heart!

Dr. Brice Hamilton

Dr. Brice Hamilton is an integral part of KC Bariatrics, where he believes all patients are deserving of a compassionate, involved physician who will help guide them on their weight loss journey.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, in 1993 from Transylvania University, he graduated from medical school at the University of Tennessee in 1997.  He completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center from 1997-2002.  Dr. Hamilton is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

As an active member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Hamilton is the President elect of the Kansas ASMBS Chapter.  An accomplished General and Bariatric Surgeon, having practiced in Tennessee and Indiana where he founded bariatric programs for Horizon Medical Center and Clark Memorial Hospital.  After returning to the Kansas City area, he has targeted his focus at KC Bariatrics where he is now able to exclusively do Weight Loss Surgery.

Dr. Hamilton has performed over 1,000 weight loss operations and believes successful weight loss requires a multifaceted approach.  Dr. Hamilton and KC Bariatrics are dedicated to ensuring that their patients have all of the tools that they need maintain a lifetime of success.

Dr. Stanley Hoehn

Dr. Stanley Hoehn founded The Bariatric Center of Kansas in 2002.  He is the Medical Director of the Weight Loss Surgery Program at Shawnee Mission Health and has been approved as an ASMBS Bariatric Center of Excellence Surgeon since 2006.  Dr. Hoehn developed the idea for our free standing Bariatric Surgical Hospital, and partnered with Shawnee Mission to complete this concept in 2010.   Dr. Hoehn has performed over 5,000 weight loss operations.

Dr. Hoehn received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from medical school at Loma Linda University in Southern California in 1994.  He completed his surgical residency and internship at the University of Kansas in 1999.

Dr. Hoehn has been in private practice in the area since the end of his training offering abdominal, advanced laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery since that time.  He transitioned his practice fully to Bariatric Surgery in 2009 and remains committed to outstanding patient care and to leading the highest quality Surgical Weight Loss program in the country.

Dr. Ryan Strain

Dr. Ryan Strain joined The Bariatric Center of Kansas City surgical team in September 2016.  He would like all to know that he is “passionate about weight loss surgery and the impact it has on patients and their families” and feels honored to be able to work with our team, as he considers bariatric weight loss surgery his true calling.

Born and raised in the Kansas City area, he attended Medical School at the University of Missouri’s Kansas City School of Medicine, receiving his MD Degree in 2009.  Dr. Strain completed his Surgical Internship and Residency programs at the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by completion of a Bariatric Surgery Fellowship program at The University of Missouri in 2015.  While in the Fellowship Program, he also practiced as an attending general surgeon and enjoyed teaching residents in the resident program. After completion of his fellowship work, Dr. Strain practiced as a General Surgeon at Liberty Hospital until joining our surgical team.

Dr. Strain looks forward to providing bariatric surgery services for our patients and playing an integral role in their bariatric journey by providing comprehensive and quality aftercare services to ensure their bariatric weight loss success.
